Alistair Gillies

Since leaving college in 1980 I have almost continually worked with clay. I have worked for other potters, run production workshops, demonstrated in a musuem, taught full time in schools and part time in adult education as well as running my own pottery classes and children's pottery parties. In 2015 I took a job as a technician in a secondary school which took the money pressure off and I after a beak from making to recharge my batteries I am now exploring new ideas.

My work combines all of the techniques that I have experienced over these years, throwing, mould making, hand-building, using custom developed slips, lustres and more,  as well as requiring the development of entirely new working methods.
